Instructions
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
2. Butter one side of each bread slice evenly.
3. Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, onto the skillet.
4. Sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over the bread.
5. Add a layer of well-drained dill pickle slices, then sprinkle with black pepper if using.
6. Drizzle a small amount of pickle juice over the pickles for extra flavor, if desired.
7. Top with the remaining cheese and cover with the other bread slices, butter-side up.
8. Cook until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, then carefully flip.
9. Cook the other side until golden and the cheese is fully melted.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with tomato soup or pickle soup
- Cut into halves or triangles for dipping
- Add chili flakes or hot sauce for extra heat
Notes:
Make sure the pickles are well drained to keep the sandwich crispy. You can mix different cheeses for deeper flavor. Cook slowly over medium heat to avoid burning the bread while the cheese melts.
