Instructions
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
2. Butter one side of each bread slice evenly.
3. Place two slices, butter-side down, on the skillet.
4. Sprinkle half the cheese evenly over the bread.
5. Add dill pickle slices on top, then sprinkle with black pepper if desired.
6. Drizzle a small amount of pickle juice over the pickles for extra flavor, if using.
7. Top with remaining cheese and cover with the other slices of bread, butter-side up.
8. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, then carefully flip and cook the other side until golden and cheese is fully melted.
9. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with tomato soup or pickle soup
- Cut into halves or triangles for dipping
- Add chili flakes or hot sauce for extra heat
Notes:
Ensure pickles are well drained to avoid soggy bread. Use your favorite cheese or a cheese blend for extra gooeyness. Cook on medium heat to allow cheese to melt without burning the bread.
