Prep the bread
Butter one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle garlic powder on the buttered side if using.
Build the sandwich
Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
Add cheese, then the dry dill pickles, then more cheese.
Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Grill to perfection
Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

Melt check
Lower heat if needed and cover for 30–60 seconds to fully melt the cheese.
