Instructions
1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
2. Butter one side of each bread slice. Optionally, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on the other side.
3. Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, on the skillet.
4. Layer with shredded cheese, cooked bacon, and dill pickle slices.
5. Top with the remaining cheese if desired and cover with the other bread slices, butter-side up.
6. Cook until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, then carefully flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
7. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with fries or a pickle spear on the side
- Cut into halves or triangles for easier eating
- Pair with tomato soup or a simple salad
Notes:
Drain pickles well to keep bread from getting soggy. Use your favorite cheese for extra gooeyness. Cook on medium heat to avoid burning the bread while melting the cheese fully.
